Well, son, I'll tell you:
Life for me ain't been no crystal stair.
It's had tacks in it,
And splinters,
And boards torn up,
And places with no carpet on the floor—
Bare.
But all the time
I'se been a-climbin' on,....

This "Mother to Son" poster by Langston Hughes, in a minimalist black-on-beige design, captures a mother's powerful message encouraging her son to persevere through life's challenges. It's perfect for bringing inspiration and elegance to his space and makes a thoughtful, inspirational gift.
